 How to build a website.

The very first thing that should be thought about is:

  •  Why do you want a website?

  •  Who will be your target audience and how will you reach them?

  •  What products or services will you be offering?

  •  Where will the contents for your website come from?

  •  Who will produce the technical content, product and services information for your website?

  •  Will you be collecting customer information and if so how and where will this information be stored and used?

  •  Will you deliver or arrange delivery of your products or services?

  •  How will you process the orders?

  •  How will you offer customer service and support?

  •  What about accepting credit card payments through your website?

  •  How will you market, advertise and promote your website?

  •  How will you portray your credibility, trustworthiness, and expertise to your potential customers?

  •  Will you want a system put in place to collect email addresses so you can send emails when new products, services or specials are being offered?

After you are able to answer all of the questions above you will need to decide the following:

  •  Will you design your website or hire a website designer and developer?

  •  How will you layout your website, graphics, navigation, fonts and what colors will you use?

  •  Where will you get the graphics, java scripts, and navigation menus for your website?

  •  How will you optimize your pictures for the website?

  •  How will you decide on a domain name and how will you register that name?

  •  What about choosing a hosting service for your website?

  •  How will you make your website pages load in under 14 seconds for computers on the web using a 28k modem?

  •  Will you build your website pages to be search engine optimized out of experience?

  •  Will you submit your website to the major search engines?

  •  Will your website will show up on the first pages of the major search engines like Google, MSN and Yahoo?

  •  Will you be editing your website and if so what software will you be using?

  •  Do you or any of your staff have the time to write your website?

  •  Will you have time to edit and maintain your website?

These are just a few things a website designer does everyday. If you feel you are in need of our services please call or email us.
